COACH BOWERS

image1.jpeg

Player Development Coach/Mentor Troy Bowers was the Manager of Player Development and Fan Development for the New York and Westchester Knicks. Throughout his 18 plus year career working at Madison Square Garden, he proved to have been a true representation of the company. He was a mentor to the professional athletes and his peers. He has created programming for athletes who have expressed an interest and career goals after basketball by exposing them to other industries outside of sports. He has shared his life experiences and lessons with the athletes and his role in the community has allowed him to be a role model for young children.

Troy began engaging the community in basketball after completing his BA in Psychology and Sociology and having a successful 13 year playing career overseas. He then became a Passaic County, NJ Parole Officer where his talent of connecting with the youth became evident. He has worked with many schools in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut and has served as a keynote motivational speaker at the Children's Aid Society, Children's Village, LaGuardia College, Charter School of Educational Excellence and Queens City Academy to name a few. Troys ability to share his life experiences and lessons with the athletes and the community has allowed him to become a valuable role model for young children.
